Contraction Timer & Kick Count

Effective
Developer
Taha Imran

The short version

  • The app has no account, no sign-in and no developer server. Your contractions, kick counts, due date, checklists and settings stay on your phone.
  • We (the developer) do not collect your personal or health data and cannot see anything you enter.
  • Android’s automatic backup is turned off for this app, so your entries are not copied to your Google account either.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google’s advertising SDK collects the data described below to serve and measure ads. None of your health entries are sent to Google.
  • You choose whether to share data for personalised ads, and can change that any time in More → Privacy and ads → Change my ad choices (shown where required by law).
  • The app is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.

Data stored on your phone

Contraction sessions (start and end times, durations, intervals, the intensity tag and any note you add), the pattern rule you chose (for example 5-1-1), kick-count sessions, your due date or the date you used to work it out (last period and cycle length, conception date or IVF transfer date), the answers you give during onboarding, your hospital bag and birth plan checklists, and app settings (theme, Night and Partner mode, units, clock style, reminders). This data never leaves your phone unless you share a summary yourself. It is removed when you use More → Delete all data, uninstall the app, or clear its storage.

Sharing a summary

Share summary creates a text summary or a PDF of a session, a kick history or your birth plan on your phone and opens Android’s share sheet. Where it goes (your midwife by message, email, a file) is your choice and is governed by that app or service. The app never uploads it. PDFs are written to the app’s temporary cache and deleted after 24 hours.

Notifications

All notifications are scheduled locally on your phone by Android. None are sent from a server, and no notification token is created.

  • Kick count reminder (off by default): the app asks for notification permission only when you turn it on.
  • Weekly size card: a once-a-week note about your baby’s size, only if notifications are already allowed; you can turn it off in Settings.
  • “Still timing?” note if a contraction session is left open for 2 hours, only if notifications are already allowed. Notifications carry no health values beyond the week number, and stop 21 days after your due date.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Depending on your region and choices, Google may collect and use:

  • Device or other identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID, and approximate location derived from your IP address
  • App interactions, such as ad impressions and clicks
  • Diagnostics, such as crash logs and performance data for advertising, fraud prevention, security, and analytics/measurement. The data is encrypted in transit. See Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

In the European Economic Area, the UK and some other regions, the app shows Google’s consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before requesting ads. It never appears before the medical disclaimer or while you are timing. You can reopen it from More → Privacy and ads. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

There are no ads on the Timer or Kicks screens, and no ads at all while a contraction session or kick count is open. Ads are requested at the most cautious content rating (G), and sensitive ad categories (such as dating, gambling, alcohol, sexual and reproductive health, weight loss, and drugs and supplements) are blocked.

Some extras (more PDF looks and extra checklist templates) are unlocked by watching a rewarded ad. Watching is always your choice. We only learn that the video finished.

Feedback and ratings

More → Send feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to us that includes the app version and Android version. We receive only what you choose to send, including your email address, and use it only to reply. Rate this app uses Google Play’s in-app review, which is handled by Google.

Permissions

Notifications (the optional reminders), vibration (haptic feedback), boot completed (to restore reminders after a restart), internet, network state and wake lock (used by the ads SDK), and the advertising ID permission (used by the ads SDK). Keeping the screen on while you time uses no permission. The app does not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts, location, photos or files, and does not use exact alarms or Health Connect.

Your choices and rights

  • Use the app without any account.
  • Delete all app data with More → Delete all data, by uninstalling, or by clearing storage.
  • Change ad personalisation in Privacy choices or Android settings.
  • Because the developer does not hold your data, there is nothing for us to export or delete on a server. For data held by Google, use https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

Not medical advice

Contraction Timer & Kick Count is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Always follow your midwife’s, doctor’s or hospital’s guidance, and contact them or emergency services if you are worried.

Children

The app is meant for adults (18+). It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date when the app’s data practices change (for example if crash reporting is ever added).
