The short version

  • The app has no account, no sign-in and no developer server. Your puzzle progress, stars, streak and settings stay on your device.
  • We (the developer) do not collect your personal data and cannot see how you play.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google’s advertising SDK collects the data described below to serve and measure ads.
  • You choose whether to share data for personalised ads, and can change that any time in Settings → Privacy → Privacy choices (shown where required by law).

Data stored on your device

Your puzzle progress and the puzzle in progress, stars, daily streak, hints, the letter size, theme and difficulty you chose, reminder time and other app settings. This data never leaves your phone. It is removed when you use Settings → Reset progress (which keeps your settings), uninstall the app, or clear its storage.

Notifications

The optional daily reminder is scheduled locally on your device by Android. It is not sent from a server, and no notification token is created. The app asks permission before turning it on; you can turn it off in Settings or in Android system settings.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Depending on your region and choices, Google may collect and use:

  • Device or other identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID, and approximate location derived from your IP address
  • App interactions, such as ad impressions and clicks
  • Diagnostics, such as crash logs and performance data

for advertising, fraud prevention, security, and analytics/measurement. The data is encrypted in transit. See Google’s policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

In the European Economic Area, the UK and some other regions, the app shows Google’s consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before requesting ads. You can reopen it from Settings → Privacy → Privacy choices. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

There are no ads during a puzzle and no ads covering the letter grid. You can watch an optional short video to earn extra hints. Watching is always your choice, and we only learn that the video finished.

Google AdMob is the only ad network in the app today. If other ad partners are added later, they will be listed here before the update that adds them.

Feedback

Settings → Send feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to us that includes the app version and Android version. We receive only what you choose to send, including your email address, and use it only to reply.

Permissions

Notifications (the optional daily reminder), vibration (haptic feedback), boot completed (to restore the reminder after a restart), internet and network state (to load ads), and the advertising ID permission (used by the ads SDK). The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, photos or files, and does not use exact alarms.

Your choices and rights

  • Use the app without any account.
  • Delete all app data with Settings → Reset progress, by uninstalling, or by clearing storage.
  • Change ad personalisation in Privacy choices or Android settings.
  • Because the developer does not hold your data, there is nothing for us to export or delete on a server. For data held by Google, use https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

Children

The app is made for adults. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date when the app’s data practices change.
